They Told You to Choose: Science or Faith.
What If That Was Never the Real Choice?
Every year, a million young people walk away from Christianity. Nearly a third cite science as the reason. Dr. Andrew Moyes—an ophthalmologist with degrees in Chemistry, Medicine, and Theology—shows why you don't have to choose.
The Book
Beautiful Universe
Seeing the Invisible Hand of God Through Faith and Science

The Book in 60 Seconds
The Problem
Two-thirds of Christian college students walk away from their faith. Nearly a third cite science as a key reason.
The Premise
Science and faith aren't enemies. They're complementary ways of seeing the same beautiful truth.
The Big Five
Big Bang vs. Genesis, Fine-tuning, Origin of life, Biological complexity, Human uniqueness.
The Solution
True vision requires both eyes. Open both, and you see clearly.

Bring Dr. Moyes to Your Event
A Scientist Who Speaks Both Languages. Most apologetics speakers are pastors or philosophers—brilliant communicators, but not scientists. Dr. Andrew Moyes is different. He's a practicing ophthalmologist with degrees in Chemistry, Medicine, and Theology.
Your students will hear from someone who doesn't just talk about science—he does science every day.
Ideal venues include:
- • College campuses (Christian and secular)
- • Campus ministries (InterVarsity, Cru, Navigators)
- • Churches and conferences
- • Christian schools and youth retreats
"The Big Five: Where Science and Faith Meet"
Dr. Moyes tackles the five flashpoints head-on: Big Bang vs. Genesis, fine-tuning, origin of life, biological complexity, and human uniqueness.
Best for: College students, young adults, general audiences
"Does Science Disprove God? An Eye Doctor's Answer"
Using his unique perspective as an ophthalmologist, Dr. Moyes explores how "seeing clearly" requires both the eye of science and the eye of faith.
Best for: Apologetics conferences, church events, evangelistic outreach
"Keeping Your Faith in College: A Scientist's Perspective"
Practical guidance for students heading to secular universities. What to expect, how to engage professors, and how to answer common objections.

The Big Five
These are the five flashpoints where science and Scripture supposedly collide. The five tensions that make students think they have to choose between their brain and their faith. Beautiful Universe tackles all five head-on.
Big Bang vs. Genesis
Does cosmic expansion contradict 'In the beginning'? Or does it confirm it?
Science says: The universe began 13.8 billion years ago in a massive expansion from a singularity.
Scripture says: "In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth" (Genesis 1:1).
Bottom line: The Big Bang doesn't contradict Genesis—it confirms it. For millennia, most scientists believed the universe was eternal. The Bible stood alone in claiming it had a beginning.
Fine-Tuning vs. Accident
Is the universe calibrated to 1 in 10^120 precision by design? Or cosmic luck?
Science says: The universe is fine-tuned to astonishing precision. If constants were off by even 1 in 10^120, the universe couldn't support life.
Bottom line: When you see precision that defies probability, design is the rational conclusion.
Origin of Life vs. Chemistry
Can life arise from non-life naturally? What does the math actually say?
Science says: Life emerged from non-life through natural chemical processes about 3.8 billion years ago.
Bottom line: The origin of life remains one of science's greatest unsolved mysteries—because chemistry alone can't explain it. Intelligence can.
Biological Complexity vs. Evolution
Does irreducible complexity point to a Designer? Or can Darwin explain it all?
Science says: All life descended from a common ancestor through mutation and natural selection.
Bottom line: You can accept science and still question whether Darwin's mechanism explains everything. Many credentialed scientists do.
Human Uniqueness vs. 'Just Another Animal'
Are we made in God's image? Or sophisticated primates? What makes us different?
Science says: Humans share 98-99% of DNA with chimpanzees. We're sophisticated primates.
Scripture says: Humans are made "in the image of God" (Genesis 1:27).
Bottom line: The image of God isn't about DNA percentages. It's about consciousness, creativity, moral awareness, and the capacity for relationship with God Himself.
